ABOUT
Midwest Agenda is a free directory for art and artists in the Midwest. It offers art news, announcements, exhibition listings, and other arts-related projects. A public engagement initiative that connects the Midwest art community, it was formed in 2021 to utilize social media outlets and provide a continuous platform for artists to share their work, exhibitions, and projects with a broader audience they might not otherwise reach.

WHO
Blair Schulman is a social practice artist, writer, speaker, and critic based in the Midwest.
Since 2002, his writing on art and artists has appeared in numerous publications, including Art in America, Art Tatler, Ceramics: Art & Perception, Cupcakes in Regalia, HuffPost, Hyperallergic, Juxtapoz, Temporary Art Review, and Vice. He was also a longtime contributor to the late Review magazine.
From 2015 to 2021, Blair served as Managing Editor of InformalityBlog, where he wrote and edited extensively on contemporary art.
In 2015, he co-developed Guerrilla Docents, an initiative that invites passersby into galleries for spontaneous discussions about art, creating opportunities for engagement beyond traditional art spaces.
Blair was a 2012 Fellow with the Oklahoma Art Writing and Curatorial Fellowship, presented by the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Blair has curated various exhibitions in Kansas City, Selected curating projects discuss the social issues of HIV/AIDS and a history of cruising for sex.
Before all that, Blair was born and raised in New York City. He studied at the School of Visual Arts and was a copywriter for Wells, Rich, Greene (one of the Mad Men agencies).
