ABOUT MIDWEST AGENDA
WHAT
Midwest Agenda is a free directory for art and artists in the Midwest, providing art news, announcements, exhibition listings, and other arts-related projects.
The premise of this project is to engage the arts community for the entire Midwest region to share their work, exhibitions, and experiences with a broad audience they might not otherwise reach.
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility are crucial to the platform’s success in that every voice in the regional arts has a place to be seen and heard. All submissions are welcome, excluding illegal or seditious activity.
HOW
Placement can occur anytime. Whenever you send your information, it will remain live on the site for the event duration.
Use this short form to send a link, or press release and image announcing an event, news or other arts promotion.
You may request more than one event listing. Send them one event at a time, please.
WHO
This directory is created and run by Blair Schulman, an art writer, and critic based in the Midwest.
Blair wrote and edited for InformalityBlog from 2015 until 2021 when he was Managing Editor.
Since 2002, his writing on art and artists have also appeared in numerous publications; including, Art in America, Art Tatler, Ceramics: Art & Perception, Cupcakes in Regalia, HuffPost, Hyperallergic, Juxtapoz, Temporary Art Review, and Vice. He was also a longtime contributor to the late Review magazine.
In 2015, he co-developed Guerrilla Docents, a social art practice engaging strangers off the street, taking them into galleries to discuss art where the opportunity might not otherwise be present.
Blair was a 2012 Fellow with the Oklahoma Art Writing and Curatorial Fellowship presented by OVAC (Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition) and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
